Guest Blogger : Express :P

Jiggy’s special!

Doing a post for Aditi came as a pleasant surprise! Now our dearest is suffering from ahem “writer’s block” and wants me to do this post for her. While I secretly know that Jiggs is one of the most laziest ones around and this is another of her banahas to not work, but this might just turn out to be fun. So today when Mumbai is submerged in water and college has declared a holiday, I sit cozy at home and complete this impending post :-P This one is gonna be about us, me i.e. Express aka Shatabdi aka Kabul Express and Aditi aka Jiggs aka Fundoo, and the thing that binds the both of us together [apart from blogger], Ruia college :-)

Joining Ruia was a turning point in my life, as I am sure it was for many Ruiates. Ruia is one of its type. I don’t think too many people who’ve not been to Ruia will be able to relate to it, but then, we are addicted to that place, this is the case for us. So addicted that we ‘miss’ college on Sundays [miss college and strictly not lectures :-P]. The best thing I like about Ruia is that which-ever kind you are [eg. nerd, brat, fun-loving, sincere, hard-working etc etc.], you find your kinda people there :-P

Life is good within and around the walls of Ruia……..

Apni laid-back lives,

carefree majja-masti,

not getting bored of the typical hang-outs,

wohi Vishnu ki chai [teri coffee],

wohi Gulshan mein ban-maska/ keema pav,

wohi DPs ka dinn mein atleast ek chakkar,

woh Mondays ko-hi Mani’s [Mondays closed] yaad aana,

wohi “quadrangle mein mil”

Teri ultra-stupid msgs,

Canteen mein gup-shup,

Blogger-world k saare updates!

Endless talks about Metallica and F.R.I.E.N.D.S and BSB and bitching about all possible people!

Subah late-wali train mein milna,

Reading hall mein padhne baithna, aur padhai chhodke baki sab-kuch karna,

Exam k baad k utre hu-e chehre,

Results k baad ka celebration,

Utsavv!!!!

Sublime Sounds!!!

I am gonna miss you so much gal! sob sob…

Guess this can wait for another year :-P So coming back to both of us………….

I remember that we got introduced in First year Microbiology lecture; one of the disaster lectures by your favorite Prof. P .Remainder of our tenure with the micro department in the lectures was spent grinning around the entire class to each other and thinking of methods of passing time. That man really got to your nerves, didn’t he? Well, I still continue to respect him, for his ideas and ideals of-course. Baki non-sense toh hamesha were a constant source of entertainment. He couldn’t stop abusing us, we couldn’t stop abusing him. You even had him in practical! Ha ha, I was lot more lucky, Vora sir, total tp!

Obviously you gave up Microbiology and took Life-Sciences for Second year. Good for your management plans. I canalized my energies into the subject of my choice, Biochemistry. But we had a common chord again, the grand our very own locker no. 39! We shared it, just kept journals in there, but none of us actually used it. Oh no! Your old bag was dumped in there all year long! LOL! Both of us lost the key! The bacha hua extra key is all crooked, thanks to all the force exertion :-P Now you use it for your current locker! Before late, get extra copies of the key made and distribute to people all over Mumbai!

Now, one thing many people don’t know about Jiggs and I will do a little pol-opening here, teehee… Aditi is prolly the only person I know who begins to ‘seriously’ study about more than one month before the exam commences! Baki time she is doing all tp possible, but exam k pehle ka ek maheena and exam ka ek maheena, you will find her posted indefinitely in apna Reading Hall. And now she is talking about me inspiring her to study, lol!

Second year was sprinkled with so many moments of fun that I can’t even re-call so many of them. All I hold back is the bond, the sense of attachment that shall keep us bonded to Ruia forever.

All said and done, I can’t think of an end to this post, coz there is no end to us, isn’t it? But I guess in Third Year we don’t need any chord as such to keep us together. Ek aur saal jhelna hai iss pagal ladki ko, end tak shayaad main bhi pagal ho jau….

Abhi toh I have lost a bet to her, kyuki by chance Spain defeated Germany in Euro 08. Unlimited cups of Vishnu ki coffee pilani hai madam ko, dekhte hai kitna loot-ti hai :-P

Love you lots!

NO! I am straight….. :-D

Pervert budhdhi! ;-)

ahhhaha

A Normal College Day :D

My result of 2nd year is due on 10th, and to my amazement my 2nd year is already over:( The year just passed, in a flash. Now, all I am felt with is some memories.
So on this note, I'll record my activities of a normal college day.

5.30 the alarm does off
I get up around 6:10 after being dragged out of the bed :D
Get ready 'stuffing all that I can see laying around on the study table, half the time I forget my specs LoL ' and practically sprint to the train station .

7:03 thats the timing of the train which I generally catch 'if I am lucky enough then I am able to stand in it else I have to hang outta it :D',takes me about 30 minutes to reach the College ka station plus about 7-8 minutes on foot and I reach the college gate where I am stopped by the watchman who tells me to wear my ID' everyday I pass the gate at least 10 times but then also he wants to check my id 'anyway I juggle my bag and practically empty it LoL then finally I find it, in the front pocket, silly me' LoL
My practicals start at 7.25 and by the time I reach the Lab, my watch already reads 7.45 :D:D, but there are others too who gimme company outside the lab. Finally after a lotta requests, sorries, and at times an apology letter too, we are allowed to attend the practical :) but we never learn and every time the same story repeats :D:D:D

I'll spear you with the details of what all we do in our practicals' I'v attaches snaps of the shark which I dissented earlier ;)'
At around 9:30 they get over, and then I realize that I'v again lost the key to my locker 'me n express share one, and I trouble her alot for the key, thanks a ton gal for bearing me through out the year:)'
So now its time for Vishnu 'the tea n coffee wale uncle near the college,he's world famous in all of Ruia College' LoLzz
There I meet my friends 'including Alisha', most of them come around 9ish though their lectures start at 7:25 :D
Sipping on 2 cups of Vishnu's coffee sets the tone for the day, at least I can pretend to keep my eyes open during those boring boring organic chemistry lecture 'which I only attend cz my names features in the blank list'.

Hmmm now the watch says 10:10 and I run inside the classroom, enter from the back and occupy the last bench :D 'and if its my lucky day, I am not called in the first row' then I some how get through the lecture taking some notes, drawing things at the back of my book, day dreaming, chatting etc etc etc.
I generally skip the 2nd lecture(at 11:05) :D,but to cover up my very poor attendance I sometimes attend ;) ehheee

Each lecture lasts for about an hour and by the time its 12(3rd one), all I do is practice sleeping while sitting 'my specs come in handy in doing so'. LoLzz

The final bell rings for the day at 12:45' oppss but there this fc class too which I haven't attended all thought this year'. Btw fc means foundation course, which includes history, politics, economics covering the basics of these fields for us Science students. But 4 hours of reading one day before the exam is enough for us to crack it. It's kinda fun cz I really find it light after the heavy theories n fat-fat reference books :)

Then its time for us to hit Mani's 'the friendly neighborhood Udipi',where I'v been ordering Idli-chatini for the past one year LoLzz.

So on paper by College gets over at 1:45, but I reach home by 5-6.
Well what I do in that time, ill leave it for another post ;)
btw this time also including one hour of Journal writing in the reading hall .

And now I have holidays for about 3 months and I am badly missing everything :(

blabbering

Well I don't have any content to write today, but haven't posted for about 10 days now, so I high time I write something.

Its already the 16Th day of the year and my resolutions have gone down the drain,'I wonder why I make them '.
I have been really frustrated these days 'dono why',I don't feel like talking to friends or anybody 'really don't know the reason'.Its like all the tensions have engulfed me and I have isolated myself. Plus I am not helping myself getting past those tensions.
Well I guess its just a phase and I'll get over it.

btw I recently dissected a shark 'one feet long', it was part of our Life science practicals, at the beginning I felt a bit pukish, but then I saw all my calssmates doing it, so I opened it up with scissors and observed it circulatory system 'the heart and the aorta'.And ill be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the process.
I got pictures too but they are a bit graphic 'so I won't put them up'.
After doing it I kinda felt bad because for our experimentation we had to kill a living being :(:(

Tats from the past

Finally I am writing my first post of'08, but firstly would like jot down a few things of 2007.

I got my hair colored for the first time in '07, the color was purple and now it has turned blonde 'looks bad' ,btw I got just a few strands colored 'thank god for that'.
Wore a Saree 'cuaz it was compulsory at my college 'but never again'.
India won the T20, 2 days after winning it, I saw the entire Cricket team here in Mumbai' for the first time' was really memorable. But could'nt manage to see Shreshant 'sob sob sob'.
What else yaa,in terms of my academics it was a disastrous year cauz I bearly studied. Had the time of my live this year ,this year of my college life will be remembered forever.
Made a lot of new friends and lost a few.
But life goes on, another year another life.
GOODBYE 2007 AND HELLO 2008

40 days w/o blogging

WARNING - This might be a long and boring read, cause I am still coming to terms with the fact that I survived this long. The following is an account of the major events that took place in these days.

I am a self-confessed Internet addict, Internet is like my lifeline but owing to some unavoidable circumstances I had to stay w/o the net for 40 agonising days. The first few days were a nightmare but some how I got busy with work at college so managed to surpass 40 days 'yaah I really did'. LoLZZ

Firstly, I'd like to thank all the God who roamed the face of the earth for bringing Vishnu back,''btw he's the guy who sells TEA near my college'',and calling that cup of tea, tea is an understatement.'I so mean it'.That's the reason we survive the agony of lectures, and for once in the practicals our eyes are open, each break means Vishnu.Vishnu's like saves the day for us. LoL
btw I am really not a fan of tea, in fact I don't even have tea at home, its just Vishnu's tea,no wonder why people call it Heaven.
So now with Vishnu's tea, we were all geared up to conduct our annual Life Science Dept. fest called 'SYNAPSE', the preparations were on since a long time, but at the last moment thousands of things erupted, nomatter how hard and bullet proff the planning was. But the show was a success , I personally had a lovely time being the host ,learnt a lot about planning and execution of events. Had a great time.

Moving on to the College Sports day, I didn't run this time 'got plain lazy', I know shame on me.
That's not the end,the best is yet to come AAROHAN an intercollegiate fest which our college hosts returned after 13 years, this time is was just electric the highlights of it was the Rock Band elims on the first day'the winner would go into the 2ND round of Channel V Launch Pad', the entire show rocked, the crowds enjoyed every bit. The 2nd day couldn't have been better, YAVU, SCEPTRE, DEMONIC RESURRECTION, NECROSIS brought down the house, the crown went frantic,I too had a stiff neck owing to all the head banging.Really had fun that day. The music just took me to a HIGH.

BTW I was volunteering for Security'though I was a complete misfit for it' LoLzz.
Then came 3 days of UTSAV 'the intra college fest',danced my feet out, the last dance was for the third year students who had tears in their eyes. 'I guess I might be in the same position next year'.
And yes 5 days of Security for a person like me was hectic, never again am I ever going to do it.
Enough of dancing, I deserve a goodnight sleep this new year so that I can start a fresh with lots of energy and focus to reach my dreams.

Awesome 4some

Left to Right Juilee, Me, Sharvari, Arti - THE INSANE BRIGADE LOLZZZ

'Life is full of surprises,You never know what would happen to you in the next moment'. I went into my trip hoping to create some wonderful memories and discover another pocket of India's rich and diverse heritage. But faith had other plans for me, which hooked me up with three insane humans of the same kind. And when this much insanity aggregates together the result has to be ballistic. LOLzz

All we did through out the seven days was laugh ,laugh and laugh soem more''yaah really that's all we did''.
The incidents of our insanity are better untold, to save all of us from a lot of embarrassment ehehheheh, we encountered a lot of unwelcomed guests too but soon the insanity got to them. LOLzz
So I don't know how to start talking about these girls, there's so much to tell with so little space. 'btw this line is only included cuaz these girls will read this post' LOLzz

Lets start with the sweetest of them JUILEE, she is really a kid at heart who's million dollar smile makes hearts melt.ehehheheheeehehe
Then comes SHARVARI ,who was the pick of the trip for many 'LOL' and once she starts laughing no body can stop her with everybody in a 100 meter radius, comes to know that some where a joke was cracked. Her laughter travels faster that light. LOLzz
Lastly, ARTI ,how can I forget this girl ,I would really pay somebody who could make her quite, her brain works faster than a rocket when it comes to smart talk.'She is a clear winner, hands down in this ' LOLzzz

Well I just bargained for a few happy memories but I got three wonderful friends in return. You girls really made my trip extra-ordinary had tons of fun.

Thanks a lot for all the wonderful memories.

3 Species of Students

The NERDS

These are the people who attend all lectures, read the topic to be taught in advance and do a daily follow up on the things taught and 'yaah of course' score the maximum in tests. I find a large chunk of them in my college. You notice this disguised expression on their faces when the exams are nearing 'like the we know it all expression'.And when you go to get notes from them, just one day before the exams they hand them over to you with a smile which clearly says 'buddy, you are doomed'. They are the once who are excited before the exam and come out gleeful and smiling after it .

The JACKS '50% NERDS - 50% BRATS'

I am sure a lot of us fall into this bracket, 'I surely do',we enjoy the best of the two worlds,we attend lectures and bunk too.But yes we are the once who run after people for notes, start stuidng one to two weeks before exams, get an above average score and fight the urges to go out and waste time'doing tp' when we know our priorities are something else.
From my personal experience I say, people like us are the most 'lost and confused' bunch cuaz we know our priorities but then also we end up doing nothing about them ,we are dragged more and more into wasting time and end up loosing focus. And when our senses finally come back to place that time we realise the time which has gone, which would never come back.

The BRATS
We also see a lot of brats in our college life, these are the so called 'popular' people who bunk lectures ,sit in the canteen all day doing nothing, exams are mere nothing to them, they brag about flunking ,they enjoy their college life to the fullest learning nothing at the end. They know nothing about the things happening around them and are mere 'frogs in a tank'.

I always wonder where do people land up after college, I guess the nerdy kinds pass out with flying colours and end Up with their dream jobs, the Jacks find their own place in the world, they either make their lives successful or are pulled down by the brats following their suit to 'no where'. After college ends 'the so called popular' people end up no where and become 'Zero's from Hero's' and I guess the nerds are the once who finally win in this race called life.
Cuaz at the end of the day, it all boils down to the numbers on your score card and the knowledge you have, with no credit to how popular you are. That's something I have learned.

Though I have written this, I myself need to realise some of the aforesaid points cuaz still my senses are at the wrong places and I need to get they back in place before its too late.I am having a hard time balancing academics and extra-curricular activities ,but I guess ill have to give up some to achieve my dreams.

Do ponder over the aforesaid and think where you stand with your lives.
Here's hoping to become a nerd someday 'soon'.

Wonder ...........

So before I get my results ,its time for some fun, I am going for an excursion 'its part of my course, heehehh' to Ramthombore-Jaipur-Agra 'we all call it a picnic.Surely looking forward to it , as its with my college friends and the memories gonna be there with me forever.

Well I have seen the Taj Mahal before '4 years back' ,and yes I was spellbound after looking at it,and I am sure this time its not going to be any different.'its a piece of amazement and beauty, ITS JUST PERFECT.
Haven't been to Jaipur before so looking forward to it, and also crossing my finger to site a few tigers at Ranthambore.

So won't be blogging for a few days 'till 1st November'.
Ciya

btw I guest blogged on Shake Inc's 6ix-feet-under ,have a look .He's also responsible for the new look of my blog:)

ExamS

DATE ; 6.10.2007
TIME ; 2 A.M
LOCATION - MY ROOM 'STUDY TABLE'
SITUATION - 5 days left for my first semester exams
STATUS - 60% portion done 'Thank God ,ill pass'

muhahahahah
Well after learning a few lessons from the first year ,this year''2nd year'' I started studying about 3 weeks before.
Started off by collecting notes, 'xerox notes' ,thank god somebody invented it else I dont't know what would have happened to people like me who are generally found out of the clssroom. lolz 'infact had fallen short of pocket money owing to them'.

At that moment of time'in which the pic was taken' , I was so sure of doing well in my exams that I didn't study anymore,'tried to act smart and only covered the portion featured in the last 3 years papers'.This time around I expected to do really well.
And when the 'THE DAY' came,I still had portions, which remained untouched, tensions were on a high with my palms sweating 'I really wanted to avoid this, this time around but just couldn't'.
And after my first paper ,my expectations were washed away ,all what was felt was a sense of 'betrayal,I gave to myself',so from the next paper, I just went in, with no expectations and did what ever I could do, in the given time.
''It was as if the examiner knew what all portions I had felt, and gave those topics in the question paper, and this happened in all the papers ,not just one''.
I GUESS LUCK WASN'T ON MY SIDE:(
Well none of them were good ,they were just 'okay' and 'fine'.
Yes I would definaltely pass, but passing was'nt ever an issue for me, I just need to score better cauz I have good brains and I need to show that.
Well,
What I need to learn from this is that, I shouldn't take my academics lightly, its time to become serious.
I better pull up my socks before its too late.
YAAH HAPPY REALISATION :|
