5 Point Someone - Chetan Bhagat
Bunked college again, the plan was to lazy around all day at home but a friends call disturbed the plans for the same apparently the people from Radio One wanted to ask some questions about College life and stuff so had to drop in at college. 'I got my 60 seconds of fame on Radio :P'
On the way back home I saw this vendor selling books, so picked up Five point Someone 'had to read it after a few recommendations' :)', and I must say it was much better that 3 mistakes.
I guess the biggest reason why his books sell, is the fact that he ends the story well, Iv just finished reading the book and I must say 'I liked it'.There is just somethings about the way he ends a story that makes you forget about the short coming of the story. I guess thats the magic of Chetan Bhagat.
One more thing that this story made me realize was, one of the reasons I was sulking for so many days was that I was disappointed over my 2nd year grades, though I had reached my targets but I just wasn't used to getting such a low rank. That eat me up inside because I knew I was better that the rest but my bad hand writing had lead me down once again.
But as it has said 'Grades are not everything', its time for me to stop whining about the rest and get my rotten brain working again 'its been high time that I get over it, get my act together, start attending lectures and slog out my acad' :P : P
Talking of attending lectures, its already 2.30 a.m and I need to get up after 3 hours in order to reach in time for a 7.25 lecture :P
Tomorrow 'opps today' is a new day, time to rise and shine again :P
P.S - If you have loved reading this book, I highly recommend 'Anything for you Ma'am' by Tushar Raheja.

Brilliant, over-rated yes again, there are better books is all we can say.

:D
read it...and indeed its gud....
low on books these days (thnx to lot of ebooks i got to finish) but now i think time to start again...
As an IIT alum let me clue you in on the truth. Five point someone is not the story of your average IItian. If only it was. I would have got to sleep with some professor's hot daughter.
-Ok
P.S. Nope. Grades matter.
@anonymous
lolzz
yup i know its fiction but the book is put together nicely
n i also know grades matter i was just trying to tell myself that they don't
but the hardest part is once u get grades on a sheet of paper they stay forever :(
sadly its true
Hmm....
A nice book.....
This the the best amongst the three.....
And the end is cool.....It makes you feel Wow!
P.S -> Another recommendation: Above Average by amitabh bagchi
You have been tagged....check out my blog!
it works !!!
it does or not
only time wil tell
til then i am just happy to get my head straight for once :)
ladki! get well soon...... :-)
gud that u read this one...
i think only this book of chetan bhagat is worth reading..
and i m searching 4 anything 4 u ma'm..
Tell you what, I am not sure how that book by Tushar Raheja is.However, there have been so many movies on the same subject by Indian and other Asian film-makers that I could actually plot the books on college life in fragments.Yet to read the three mistakes. As for 5 point...well, it was ok in the first go but again, its not something that you will like everytime you will read it.Much like the temporary effect of the new bollywood flicks that we have these days- we forget them within weeks of release
wow..nice description ....its a good book tho....
ladki, kuch toh post kar...
kam-chor!
woaa.. dude (fundo).. i hate this man.. :x
Many a times, I wonder how good it would be if Tushar Raheja or even Chetan Bhagat could be more than desi-sidney sheldon and write something like Vikram Seth..
Though I personally like reading both but still I feel they are *over rated*
i agree!!
Dunno, didn't like the book.
Timepass reading ke liye okay, but somehow telling me people jumping from 13th floor surviving and then the man (bhagat) calling it real etc.. as in.. It's fiction all right, but well, as someone put it, there're better books around!
Will take up Tushar Raheja someday! :)
ps : one night @ call.. , read it?
nopes havnt read one night at the call center
but planing to read it soon
yup thr r better books ard
but wt chetan bhagat did is bring something new to the indian readers
thats the reason he was successful :)
dont read call center, waste of time.
Characters r introduced well, but the whole plot is wasted.
P.S. lehninger padh, Taylor padh, russel padh, Kuby padh, nahi toh apne cat ka padhai kar....kuch kaam ka padh...
:-P
dont woriii
start kar dia hai parna mene:)
this is d only chetan bhagat book worth a read! d rest of em sell coz of this 1!!
one night at a call centre?? he must be under some drug effect when he wrote tht.n if im right, he tried d sidney sheldon erotica there! :x
