5 Point Someone - Chetan Bhagat

Bunked college again, the plan was to lazy around all day at home but a friends call disturbed the plans for the same apparently the people from Radio One wanted to ask some questions about College life and stuff so had to drop in at college. 'I got my 60 seconds of fame on Radio :P'

On the way back home I saw this vendor selling books, so picked up Five point Someone 'had to read it after a few recommendations' :)', and I must say it was much better that 3 mistakes.

I guess the biggest reason why his books sell, is the fact that he ends the story well, Iv just finished reading the book and I must say 'I liked it'.There is just somethings about the way he ends a story that makes you forget about the short coming of the story. I guess thats the magic of Chetan Bhagat.

One more thing that this story made me realize was, one of the reasons I was sulking for so many days was that I was disappointed over my 2nd year grades, though I had reached my targets but I just wasn't used to getting such a low rank. That eat me up inside because I knew I was better that the rest but my bad hand writing had lead me down once again.

But as it has said 'Grades are not everything', its time for me to stop whining about the rest and get my rotten brain working again 'its been high time that I get over it, get my act together, start attending lectures and slog out my acad' :P : P

Talking of attending lectures, its already 2.30 a.m and I need to get up after 3 hours in order to reach in time for a 7.25 lecture :P
Tomorrow 'opps today' is a new day, time to rise and shine again :P

P.S - If you have loved reading this book, I highly recommend 'Anything for you Ma'am' by Tushar Raheja.

The three Mistakes of my Life - Chetan Bhagat

Bunked my College yesterday, wasn't in a mood to attend some boring lectures of Horticulture, and this book was stock piled for quite some time so the task for Saturday was cut out, but these rains have made me really lazy so finally finished it today :P
I haven't read Five Point Someone nor have I read One Night at the Call-center, and the only reason I read this book was because of its title 'as you may know, mistakes is my favorite word' :P. On top of that Chetan Bhagat was one Guy whom everybody seems to like, so I had to read him.

The story involves Friendship, Cricket, Politics, Business and how people cope with natural and man-made calamities. Its talks of Gujarat riots and the Earthquake, I still have memories of watching that stuff on tv, and I must say, there were points in the book which I found hard to read specially the rioting part because Death is the hardest part for me to stomach. And yes there were some parts in the story which I didn't like but over all the book is a good read 'a bit over rated, but nice'.
I can't say ill take any lessons from the book, but the way the passion for Cricket is projected and the way the influence of politics in dairy life is projected, it makes me realize how small things escalate to big things and how our society stands on the threshold of man-made calamities.

On a lighter note, I got a few questions who's answers I am unable to find :D

Why does every story has a Girl angle to it' if uv read the book then I am talking about Vidya' ?? :P
What fun do guys get outta checking out girls ??
And why are girls often projected as brain less and cry babies ?? x(

Shower your gyaan on the same :P : P

Laugh ''Not''

I can't express regret, grief, concern or sadness anymore.

After the bad times, laughter was all I was left with.

I Laughed through all the pain, called it the 'side-effects' of the bad times.

But now laughter has left me hollow, empty and lifeless.

It seems as if, after all the laughs

Life is laughing at me.

And I stand there

broken again.

No more Laughs

But still I stand there laughing,

With the biggest joke been played on

me

Expectations

We all think we're going to be great and we feel a little bit robbed when our expectation aren't met,
but sometimes our expectations fall short.
Sometimes the expected simply pales in comparison to the unexpected.
You've got to wonder why we cling to our expectations because,
the expected is just what keeps us steady, standing still,
and the expected is just the beginning.
The unexpected is what changes our lives.

~ Closing quotes of Grey's Anatomy Season 2,episode which aired yesterday.

Expectations is a something which we all carry around with us.
Personally I am really not a fan of expectations, in fact thats one thing I really wanted to get away from, and to certain extend did but a few fragments of it still cling to me. And no matter what I do they don't leave me, I guess they are using Fevicol - 'as they say Fevicol ka joor tuke ga nahi' :P

We all say the best way to go is having ''No Expectations''.
But the truth is if we have no expectations, then we will be like a dead soul wondering around with nothing to look forward to. Pain and happiness are the sides of the same coin, a coin which works in Kingdom Life.
A wise guy:P just pointed out to me that our Dreams and Goals are also expectations does that mean we should stop dreaming ??
I guess not, Expectations will always cling to us in one form or the other, all we can do is, filter our expectations and root out some of the weeds in them, channelize our expectations towards ourself away from others because many a times its the others who don't live up to our expectations than us going the honors.

Well talking of the unexpected, thats where a new journey begins into the unknown and sometimes the unknown surprises us in a way that the known could never reap its pleasure.

Well I must say Expectations has left me really confused,
I guess having Expectations is a part of being human.

I so wanna be an alien : P : P

P.S - This post is a product of my disconnected thoughts on expectations, I guess someday I might be able to make some sense of it. Till then I hope you guys throw some light on it :D
